Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 -Sarge- released

Nach drei Jahren Entwicklungszeit, langem Warten und letzten Verzögerungen ist die Linux-Distribution Debian 3.1 (Codename »Sarge«) vollendet.

Das aktuelle Release enthält einige aktuelle Softwarepakete, wie das K-Desktop-Environment 3.3 (KDE), die GNOME-Arbeitsumgebung 2.8, den GNUstep-Desktop, XFree86 4.3.0, GIMP 2.2.6, Mozilla 1.7.8, Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0.2, Apache 1.3.33, Python 2.3.5 und vieles mehr.

Außerdem werden von Sarge elf Prozessor-Architekturen unterstützt, inklusive Motorola 68k (m68k), Sun SPARC (sparc), HP Alpha (alpha), Motorola/IBM PowerPC (powerpc), Intel IA-32 (i386) und IA-64 (ia64), HP PA-RISC (hppa), MIPS (mips, mipsel), ARM (arm) und IBM S/390 (s390).

Ich habe Debian Sarge getestet und ich finde es einfach lächerlich, immernoch genauso verbuggt wie in der beta…

Hi, TMK, kannst du auch Fakten zeigen?
Wo sind die Bugs z. B.? Mir ist jetzt nur bekannt, dass beim Release der erster Sarge Version man ein kleiner Bug im sources.list gefunden hat, das war auch nru wegen ein kleiner Zeichen, zu finden unter:

Jul 2005 (12:52) gsyi Anscheinend hat Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 alias Sarge die Probleme mit ihren Sicherheits-Updates immernoch nicht gelöst, hier habe ich bereits erwähnt, dass die Teammitglieder der Debian Security Team nicht zusammenarbeiten bzw. die Sache nicht Ernst genug nehmen. It seems that security.debian.org is still in some sort of a poor situation. Several security updates aren’t built on all architectures as they should be. For bzip2 and cvs arm and ia64 are missing, for gzip only ia64 is missing, ht hasn’t been built on a single architecture for oldstable, similar to fuse on stable. Currently, it’s totally unreliable. Mike Stone has sent an inquiry about similar oddities to the people who maintain the infrastructure. I haven’t seen an answer yet, though. For me, it looks as if wanna-build is confused about the Debian security server. For both fuse and ht the database only knows about older versions. For bzip2 and cvs the wanna-build database correctly lists the two missing architectures as needs to build, which hasn’t happened for half a week now.
