Hier möchte ich eine Übersicht der Google Updates 2005 aufstellen:

Allegra Update
Dauer: Februar 2005
Zum Allegra Update konnten Feedbacks abgegeben werden.

Bourbon Update
Dauer: Mai - Juni
Der Google Index wurde stark neusortiert. Es gaben Vermutungen, dass Google Backlinks anders gewichtet.

Gilligan Update
Dauer: September
Matt Cutts stellte in seinem Blog klar, dass Gilligan kein wirkliches Update war.
“Technically Update Gilligan is just backlink/PageRank data becoming visible once more, not a real update. There haven’t been any substantial algorithmic changes in our scoring in the last few days.”

Jagger Update
Dauer: Oktober - November?
Das Jagger Update wurde in drei Phasen durchgeführt: Jagger1, Jagger2, and Jagger3. Zum Jagger Update gibt es eine interessante Analyse von JimHedger:

“The first was to deal with manipulative link-network schemes, sites generated with scraped content and other forms of SE-Spam. The second was to allow and account for the inclusion a greater number of spiderable documents and file types. The third was to allow and account for new methods of site acquisition beyond the use of the spider Googlebot.”
